  1. I’ve posted some stories for the Barclay travel community. If you enjoy doing that sort of thing it can be a way to generate some points. It looks like some of the people in thread linked here are responsibly participating as intended, while some are gaming it. I hope Barclay monitors activity to nail the scammers, which will protect the site’s viability for the rest.

  2. @DaveS: How do you game it? Taking pics from Google search and using them as your own? That should be a big no-no.

  3. @Ken, indeed there are people who do that. Also people who post lots of irrelevant and very brief travel details (for bonus points) or who cut and paste verbatim information from Wikipedia or other sources. I know Barclay does monitor for those things.

  4. @DaveS: I hope Barclay monitors things. I was reading about people on the Reddit article that would make 200 details per story and they’d do the same details for all 5 stories for a single city. That’s just ridiculous.

  5. I’ve earned 105k on the site. All real photos and stories. Never went crazy on points of interest either. Most of them (73k) were earned last year when it was 200 points a story instead of 150. Can still earn $20/hour in travel at the current rate no problem. Running out of stories though!

  6. I’ve still got tons of pics left, but I wish I’d taken more pics on my travels. I posted $40 in stories yesterday, but usually I only have time to post $20 or less. My internet is pretty slow so I spend a lot of time waiting for things to load.
