Earn 1000 (Stackable) Bonus Hyatt Points for Each Stay Through the End of the Year

Hyatt is running a targeted 50,000 point promotion through the end of November. I wasn’t targeted, but fortunately it was still possible to sign up.

That period is shaping up to be super generous because it will stack with the 1000 bonus points per stay they’ll give you through the end of the year for booking with their mobile app or mobile website.

I shrugged my shoulders at Hilton over 1000 HHonors points but do see value in 1000 Hyatt points. That’s the thing about hotel programs, they’re all on different point ‘scales’. A top tier Hyatt will cost about a third as many points as the top-end Hilton.

The trick here is that the stay has to be booked and consumed between October 1 and December 31. Annoying, I may have to cancel and rebook some stays I’ve already reserved in order to pick up the bonus points.

The other trick is that while paid Hyatt stays booked through their mobile channels count, MGM M Life stays (which count towards status) don’t earn under this promotion.

  1. The app is terrible. Can’t complete reservations using My Elite Rate, AAA, or Government Rate even though all are showing. Get all the way through the reservation process and the app bounces back to the initial reservation page for your name, etc. and says there is a conflict with the hotel policy. The app needs work . . . Because the app does not work. Very frustrating trying to make some reservations and cannot.

  2. Just use the mobile website then on your desktop (i.e. go to m.hyatt.com)

    Not that difficult.

  3. @Jason — thanks but having the same problem, getting “conflict with hotel guarantee policy.” Have you had success booking special rates?

  4. Having the same problem with the booking either on Hyatt Daily Rate or Costco rate.

I get this mesage: Conflict with hotel guarantee policy.

@Jason…tried the mobile site and had the same issue.

@Gary. Do you mind reaching out to Hyatt?

  5. @SkiCo @Gary — I found a thread on flyertalk where someone said the problem was the Hyatt Visa & to try a different credit card & others said doing so worked. Could be an IT glitch with using the credit card saved in your account because I was able to make reservations typing in the info for my Hyatt Visa as though it were a new credit card, rather than using it from saved in my account. It is a pain to type all the info each time, so I did pay with a new card & saved the card to my account & then was able to use my saved card even tho it is my Hyatt Visa (but showing as a saved Visa).
