Citibank 100,000 Mile American Executive Card Signup Bonus is Back!

The Citi American Airlines Executive card’s 100,000 AAdvantage mile signup bonus was the very best signup bonus out there ever since it appeared at the beginning of January.

And it topped my list of card offers that wouldn’t last. Indeed, it didn’t… for a short bit.

Two weeks ago the landing page for the offer disappeared but a direct application link still worked.

But then after nearly six months (I never thought it would last that long) the direct application for the card [which didn’t list the bonus details, but folks still had success] finally disappeared.

That left the 75,000 mile offer for the card as the biggest one around.

Now the 100,000 mile signup bonus application is back!

The application link found here seems to be working again!

Nowhere on the application is this listed, but the offer should be:

  • 100,000 miles after $10,000 spend within 3 months
  • $200 statement credit offsets your first $200 in purchases

It’s a $450 annual fee card and comes bundled with American lounge access, no foreign currency transaction fees, and 10,000 elite qualifying miles after $40,000 spend in a year.

  1. @Great — how do you figure? If Citi didn’t want people signing up for the card, why would they bring it back?

  2. @Great – what’s the big deal? The offer’s been around forever, Gary’s at least the third blogger to post this today and it’s all over Flyertalk . . .

  3. I went through the available link last monday 7/7 and got approved instantly. Nice limit too. but, when the card arrived there was no indication of the 100K offer. Many many people have apparently received the offer on that date and later, so not really sure why/how it wouldn’t have transferred to my application. Whats the best course of action at this point?

  4. Gary, regarding your statement that the details of the offer aren’t listed on the application, I’ve notice that NO Citi AA cards have the offers listed on the application page. They have the details of the offer on the offer page, but when you click on the application, there’s nothing.

  5. Also noticed the same thing for Chase. AmEx and BofA appear to have the offer details on the application page.

  6. Thank you for posting, Gary…even though the thread is about four times longer than need be. Whatever. 🙂

  7. Not taking away from the quality of deal…but once the merger goes thru the miles are most assuredly going to be devalued like all the other airlines…they are just delayed b/c of the merger. Soooo, get in on this and then spend spend spend!!! 🙂

  8. Re the 10K EQM bonus for $40K spend in a year–is that in a calendar year, or in any 12 month rolling period? In other words, if I get this card now, do I have to meet the spend required by Dec 31 2014, or do I have a year from approval?
If the 100,000 mile bonus is good, it might not matter that much. This will be more valuable, not less, if AA follows in the footsteps of UA and Delta IMHO.

  9. tivoboy, the 2nd app for DH was approved last Monday as well. He had to call in to verify info and the rep confirmed the 100k bonus/$200 statement credit after 10k spend over the phone. If you’re concerned give them a call = but I doubt you have anything to worry about! Yay for Citibank!
