30% Off Silvercar, $50 Off First Rental, and $25 Credit for Being Referred

I’m a fan of Silvercar, the new rental car outfit that’s so far only in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin, and Dallas although rumored to be expanding.

They offer only Audis, and the rental ‘includes everything’ – GPS, wireless internet, SiriusXM radio, and even toll tracking (you pay only the actual cost of tolls you use) plus refueling at market rate (you don’t refill the tank and you’re charged the actual cost of gas plus $5).

I first wrote about $9 Audi Rental Cars from Silvercar, noting that one-day rentals start at $59 and there’s a $50 off first-time customer code.

With my first rental experience which I reviewed, I also discussed the $25 credit for being referred by someone (the referrer also gets $25): How I Made $12 on My Audi Rental Car and How You Can Too.

I rented from them a second time when I got a survey and completing it gave me a 30% off discount code.

I’ve found that Silvercar’s rates are not good by leisure rental standards, but are actually quite competitive compared to what I would pay on a midweek airport business rental. And I like the overall value proposition for those times.

Fortunately, they may again be within reach thanks to a 30% discount all June long using promo code HEYJUNE (valid on rentals of 2 days or more).

Referral credits come in the form of a visa gift cards (either electronic or physical) offered at the end of the month following the month in which they’re earned. They are stackable with coupon codes. But the first-time use code and 30% off codes are not combinable.

  1. I’d be careful of the $50 first time Visa gift card offer. I rented in March, and then received an email link to a $50 gift card a few weeks later. The link was dead. I’ve left two voice mails for Silvercar customer service, and have also sent them two emails. They don’t respond. Two weeks ago I finally got a representative on the phone who sounded sincere and said she would get back to me by the end of that day with a solution, but she never called and once again they’re not answering calls.

This reminds me a lot of what happened with Legend Airlines, the really nice luxury airline that also offered Dallas a great travel product a few years ago then ran into customer service problems and shut down a month later

  2. I received mine no problem. Customer service is the main focus at Silvercar from what I can tell. Just call them and I’m sure they will honor the credit.
