  1. @ Gary – “France is in the air” .. so that’s what the smell was. Exactly what I thought when I read this. Reminds me of an Air France transatlantic flight I took years ago…

  2. I guess I fly into DFW at the right time to miss the lines (usually mid-afternoon). I never have to wait much at all. Now they have the self-service kiosks (not Global Entry) where you scan your passport, answer the same questions as on your blue immigration card, take a picture and receive a white ticket. If there is a large X on the ticket, you visit an officer, otherwise you head on down to baggage claim. Very quick and not much slower than Global Entry. Sometimes Customs can back up a bit, but I have not seen anything too long.
