  1. I think the optimal point for the AA purchase is 45K+15K, yielding 2.275cpm including excise tax and processing fee.

  2. What has been your experience in getting LH without a fuel surcharge on Aeroplan? I’ve never gone from UA to LH, but I did change a client from LH to US once on FRA-PHL and received over $400 back minus the $90 change fee. I did not ask it for it either. I would have assumed it would have been the same had I gone from US to LH…
