30% Off Gift Cards for Discount Site Jetsetter.com (And Why I’m Not Stocking Up)

I’ve had run-ins with Jetsetter in the past. And I don’t entirely trust them in honoring referral credits. So I’m not going in on this deal, but some will find it of use.

JetSetter (not a referral link, feel free to leave yours in the comments) is a website that offers high-end(ish) travel deals at a discount.

Via Online Travel Review they’re offering 30% off of gift cards.

$25 off a $250 gift card
$75 off a $500 gift card
$200 off a $1000 gift card
$500 off a $2000 gift card
$1500 off a $5000 gift card

So you can pre-purchase discounted travel at a discount.

As Jared writes, “You can, of course, buy yourself a gift card, meaning that you can save up to 30% off everything on Jetsetter forever. Not too bad, considering that their flash sales are already round 30% off.”

Of course ‘forever’ applies to the life of JetSetter (I understand they’ve been looking to unload the site) and the life of the gift cards (which are regulated by various state laws, but in my experience linked to above I’ve considered them to play slippery with terms and conditions). So I’m not taking the plunge. But those who do can certainly get some very good deals.

  1. If you already have existing credits in your account, however, then you can apply the credits, not shell out anymore money and still purchase the gift cards thus giving you more credits than you already had.

  2. Do Jetsetter hotel bookings earn elite stay credit?
Or are elite benefits honored on such bookings?
    Esp interested re Hyatts.

FYI- more Jetsetter issues- I had some of my unspent credit balance just miraculously disappear some time in the past month or so. It’s been there for the previous 12 months just fine, and never expires, but when I went to do this deal I was missing $562 of it. Yikes. Will be calling when they open in the morning.

  3. @greek2me Hyatt honors elite status benefits on third party bookings. However Jetsetter discounted rates shouldn’t earn stay/night credit towards status

  4. Followup re Jetsetter issue I had- after speaking to them and giving them details, they were able to restore my credit to the proper level.
