Up to ~ 50,000 Flying Blue Miles for Avis 3-Day Rentals

Via Loyalty Lobby, Avis has brought back up to 50,000 Flying Blue bonus for 3-Day rentals.

Downsides are (1) that last year’s promo was fraught with problems getting bonus miles posted, and (2) that it requires using a discount code that often bumps up the price of the rental. But if prices are close for your specific rentals, and you’re willing to save your receipts (easy to do, I always get mine by email within minutes of dropping off the vehicle), then it’s a lucrative offer.

From April 1 through September 30, you’ll earn progressively more Flying Blue bonus miles on each 3-day (or longer) rental.

Reservations must be made using a Flying Blue AWD number: Ivory members F982700; Silver members F982800; Gold members F982900; Platinum members F983000 or with an Air France Flying Blue AWD number: Silver i939700; Gold i939800; Platinum i939900. Prestige car class rentals are excluded.

  1. I have been trying for now a year to get points posted to my account. It is equivalent to a fraud. I have called them maybe 20 times, faxed the same number. I have been lied too, hung up on and overall just forgotten. This comes from a person that was Royal Wing in 1989 and Club Rouge in 2002 every year until the merger. FLYING BLUE IS JOKE. Yes, I am very upset that they don’t have the courtesy to even fulfill their obligations.

  2. Agree with cowrus. I have at least a half dozen Avis rentals I’m trying to get credited. Avis keeps saying wait 60 days for them to post. So I finally sent info straight to the airline. The airline has also contacted Avis, to no avail.

    Worthless

  3. If I have a 2 week rental coming up should I break it up into six different rentals to get maximum points?

  4. Avis owed me points so I just disputed the charge with Amex. After Amex rejected the charge, their collections department contacted me and I told them why I was disputing it. They then decided to look into the points issue and say they are posting my points.

  5. @Gary – Have you participated in this promo last year? Other than saving the receipts, what is the best way to ensure the points are posted?

  6. Seems like Flying Blue Ivory members are excluded from this years promotion. The terms and conditions only lists AWD codes for Silver and on. Is that correct?
