Free Hilton HHonors Gold Status Still Available

Back on December 22, I flagged an offer for free Gold status with Hilton HHonors through May 2013.

That offer, believe it or not, appears to still be alive.

As Rob writes in the comments to an update post I had made on the offer:

As of 10 Mar 2012, still worked for me! Thanks!!! As Tamas said, register or change your Hhonors account to Australia, use the code above, then once you get the congrats screen simply change back to your real country.

The ‘code above’ refers to 442394 or 411945.

Gold status, of course, gets some modest upgrades, continental breakfast, free internet, and discounted multi-night redemption stays.

  1. I’m surprised this sticks around. There have been so many opportunities this year that I would have expected Hilton to clamp down on the non-targeted individuals taking advantage.

  2. Hilton Gold is pretty valuable since it gives free Internet and free breakfast at Hilton, Conrad, Doubletree, Hilton Garden Inn. That’s like $30-$50 value per night on every reservation.

  3. I’ve got Gold status, and I just signed the wife up using this promo about two weeks ago. It will benefit us because we have an 8 week stay coming up and we can just alternate bookings and stay at the same hotel, instead of hotel hopping. The free internet and breakfast is really going to come in handy for those 8 weeks!

  4. As I keep saying, when this topic comes up, this is still around because Hilton wants it to still be around. If they didn’t want us to use this, they could have not only shut it down, but also disqualified those of us who used it months ago.

Being easy Gold has already resulted in my reserving at more Hilton Group locations in the EU for summer 2012, including the Double Tree in Amsterdam, and Paris La Defense, than I would have othewise. Hilton figures this will end up bringing in more new business than it costs in free perks. And their advertsing cost for it is zero. Hilton, crazy like a fox…..

  5. I always get the answer “Invalid Registration – Please contact the Hilton HHonors Service Center for assistance.”

  6. Can someone tell me where to enter that code? I could become an Aussie pretty quick, but then dumbed out!

  7. Followed your link, used the code provided then changed from google to yahoo website to change my HH adress to Australia.
Signed in with my HH number and pin- Worked like a charm on March 10th.
    Great Blog Tip Thank You!

  8. I’m getting the same message as Stefan – “Invalid Registration – Please contact the Hilton HHonors Service Center for assistance.”

Any advice? I’m showing the Visa number verified, and I’m using my HHonors number and password (double checked that). Thoughts?

  9. I have both SPG Gold and Hilton Gold and stayed at two Hilton properties on a recent Middle East trip and three SPG properties. The Hilton benefits were almost always better and I didn’t have to ‘whine’ for them – free breakfast, free Internet, pre-blocked upgrade. If I was lucky, SPG offered one out of three (that’s even after Internet became free for all Golds).

  10. I don’t see where you put in this code. It’s not long enough for a credit card number, and when I changed my registration to Australia, there was not a place to enter a code.
    More info please.

  11. Just registered for HHilton Honors (Blue) but do not know how/where to go to enter the “code”. Help. Thanks

  12. I am a visa infinite cardholder in Canada and it would not accept the first six of my card. However, using the digits you provided and te Australia maneuver it worked. Is this a limited visa infinite promotion?

  13. Gary and others,

Are there any signs of problems one could have when taking part in a promo they aren’t eligible for? I don’t mind if my benefits aren’t honoured but if they would (can?) cancel reservations and such it would be disastrous.

  14. @Ralph Hilton is allowing this to get MORE bookings, not to alienate customers. People have been getting “Gold” for 3 or 4 months now, thru various means, and I’m not aware of anyone posting a problem. The worst I can imagine is the refusal to grant an upgrade on arrival. But so far no one has reported anthing like that. Don’r Worry, Be Happy !

  15. I’m not yet a HHonors member. Do I have to register with a fake complete address in Australia, fill in the promo and then change my address ASAP?

  16. Just tried on March 22nd ; they ask for a 16 digits card number – so the system replies “Invalid card number. Please try again.”…
    Any idea ?

  17. Just to update you all: As of 28 Mar this still worked. The 16 digit entry as I suspected is not verifying the actual account exists but that you have a valid account number (it’s easier than querying their massive database for an actual account). That being said you just need to enter a potentially valid CC account number.

This website explains the checksum logic for a VISA cc: http://www.merriampark.com/anatomycc.htm

Still use 442394 as your first 6 digits, and then plug in the rest to make a valid acct number using the formula given. It’s very simple to do with an Excel sheet.

You won’t have to add the credit card to your account nor book using the card, so no worries. Also make sure to change your HHonors account address to Australia before hand. Good Luck!

    Cheers!

  18. Well Done on the instructions “THAT GUY!”
I had just lost my gold status last week and today, badabing, I’m BAAAACK!

    RJ

  19. Since the CC# is not a real one and not used for anything else but the validation step, can anyone offer a set of numbers that will validate as per post 27?

  20. Works as of 4/4/12. PT’s number did not work but ysed 4423 9400 0505 0008 and it went through

  21. I entered a CC# and it took it, but it hasn’t changed to gold. how long does it take?

  22. How soon will you become GOLD level/how long does it take? I did everything — website said all was good but I see no difference in my status — still BLUE level?

  23. Can’t use 442394 as first 6 with zeroes in middle and ending in 8 anymore. Anyone got another card# to work?

  24. I have ued lots of 6 digits + random 10 digits (then changed the last # to make it divisiable by 10) but none are working and keeps saying:
“Invalid card number. Please try again.”
They are vaild, tested them on multiple CC checker sites.
So I think they have started blocking these most used first 6.
List of ones that have failed for me:
    442394
    442396
    411945
..and the list goes on as I tried ever first 6 digits that people have posted on these blogs and comments.
I even tried doing Singapore and tried getting the first 6 for some banks there.
But still can not even get to step two, where it asks for a member id to verify address.
Even the one king posted does not work (Though, it does not error, it just clears the boxes).
I am also using Ausi proxys for my browser just in case they are doing some reviewing of the upgrades manually after the fact.

So anyone got some new 6 digits?

  25. Changed country to Australia – guessed a number and was confirmed May 1 2012

  26. Okay – I hate to be a blog hog but did A.) I am now a gold level on my account and B.) did anyone see this change “If you are a Gold HHonors guest, you and up to one additional registered guest in the same room will be granted complimentary access to the Executive Floor Lounge only if you receive a room upgrade to the Executive Floor or an upgrade to a room type that confers Executive Floor Lounge access benefits.”
